This is often more revealing than choosing the shape of the deck first and hoping the furniture will fit.

Think about what you want to see while seated. A railing, screen or planting arrangement can influence that view as much as the decking color. Consider where a covered area would be most useful and how its position relates to the doors and windows. Explore porches and pergolas as part of the whole space, with suitability and construction requirements reviewed for your property.
Edit your inspiration into a buildable direction
Choose a small set of references and give each a purpose: one for the layout, one for materials and one for the atmosphere. Describe what you want to borrow rather than asking to duplicate another property.
