Design options
Compare the view from a seated position as well as from the yard. Post spacing, top rails, stair transitions and color can change the visual weight of the system. Include any gate or lighting preferences before the layout is finalized.
Materials and product selections
Wood, composite and metal systems offer different appearances and maintenance requirements. Cable or glass options require product-specific review. Ask for the exact system, compatible components and installation requirements rather than selecting by appearance alone.
Construction considerations
Guard and handrail functions are not interchangeable. The supporting framing, post connections and transitions at stairs must suit the selected system and applicable requirements. A replacement railing may require changes below the surface.
From first conversation to construction
Start with photos and priorities. Review the site and the information needed for the scope, coordinate selections and supporting design, then agree on the work before construction. Read BILDEN’s project process and keep the proposal, changes and care information together.
